Focal persons of the Integrity Development Committee (IDC) from the DSWD-Central Office and Field Offices converged in the scenic pines city of Baguio to draft the Department’s Moral Renewal Action Plan (MRAP).

Notwithstanding the rains, it was an exciting two-day workshop wherein we brainstormed to come up with an MRAP suitable to the DSWD’s vision, mission and objectives. Based on Executive Order 255 signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, all government agencies and instrumentalities are enjoined to draft and implement a Moral Renewal Action Plan.

Assistant Bureau Director Mariz Maristela Co-Chairperson of the Integrity Development Committee and Ms. Tess Panaligan of SWIDB facilitated the workshop.

To guide us in the crafting of the DSWD MRAP, Presidential Anti-Graft Commission (PAGC) Director Willy Contreras explained the background of Administrative Order No. 255 which “Directs the heads of the Executive Departments to Lead Moral Renewal in their Agencies.”

On the other hand, Assistant Bureau Director Maristela explained that the workshop aims to formulate DSWD’s Moral Renewal Action Plan based on the template provided by PAGC and existing values formation programs of the government.
